Sometimes you may be asked to perform a "cut cord" instead of returning the product. This is based on the overall cost, both environmentally and financially, on shipping product back to a return center.
If you are asked to perform a cut cord here are the simple steps to follow:
Make sure the device is unplugged/de-energized
Unplug the device, remove any batteries if applicable, and verify the unit is in a stable location
Using sharp scissors or knife cut away from you
Always practice safe cutting practices and cut the cord near the base of the unit
Submit photo
Once this is done take a photo showing the cut cord along with the product information sticker (This will include the model number, serial number, etc)
Unit has no cord
What if my unit has not cord? In the even your unit is battery powered and there is no physical cord to cut you can use a sharpie and draw an "X" across the Product information sticker, along with the serial number sticker if there is one
