Part Used: NIM-WaterPump02
Tools Needed:
- Phillips Screwdriver
-
Make sure all water is drained out before starting. Lay the unit on its side to expose the 8 screws needed to remove the plastic lining as well as the cover for the water pump access.
-
Remove the panel shown to access the water pump. Carefully unscrew the 2 mounting screws of the water pump.
- Remove the 9 screws of the metal panel.
- Stand unit upright. Press on the panel inward from both sides, near the front to unclip it from the front display and drawer. As you press inward, push down to slide off the panel. It may prove a little difficult to remove at first.
- Once the panel is removed, turn the unit to the left to locate a plastic cover housing the wires. This is where the power control board (PCB) is located. You will need to unclip the water pump wire from the PCB.
- Open the cover and find the wire terminal labeled "PUMP". Unclip this connector.
- Once you remove the connector, feed the wire behind the PCB cover towards the water pump. After, turn the ice maker to the other side to locate the water pump.
- Now, you can dislodge the water pump. Insert the water tube into your new water pump.
- Insert your water pump back into position with the impeller side first.
- Feed the water pump wire through here and reconnect it to the PCB. Place the cover back on.
- Place the metal panel back on. Make sure the inserts are tucked under the plastic covers.
- Tilt the unit once again on its side and fasten the metal panel, water pump & cover, and plastic lining that were removed from steps 1-3. After all components are screwed back on, your water pump replacement is complete.
